The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is the first tribe in the country to establish a paleontology code and a Paleontology Department. The Paleontology Department regulates and manages the fossil resources of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Each year the Paleontology Department has a summer field camp where additional seasonal staff are hired and trained to collect fossils. Up to 1,000 fossils can be collected each year. If you are interested in archaeology, fossils, dinosaurs, and/or being a helping hand, then our summer field camps are for you!
